Feedlogic
Awarded Patent Covering Key Intellectual Property
LYNDEN,
Wash., - August 26, 2004 - Feedlogic
Systems, Inc. today announced it has been awarded a patent covering
the core elements of its precision feeding technology. U.S. patent
number 6,779,486 includes 34 claims which cover Feedlogic's robotic
feeding technology.
The
patent addresses integral parts of Feedlogic's technology, including
its "blend-on-the-fly" capabilities, its ability to generate real-time
data on feed intake, and its ability to make precise, rapid adjustments
to feeding specifications based on actual animal performance.
"This
patent is important to our future," said Feedlogic CEO Drew Ryder.
"It confirms the unique nature of our technology and the value of
our intellectual property. It's also a credit to the ingenuity of
our chief technology officer and co-founder Dave Vaags."
Feedlogic's
technology consists of a robotic feed delivery unit, control software,
and a communications network. Users can monitor feeding performance
and make adjustments to feed blends to ensure animals are receiving
the correct diet at any point in their growth cycle. The constant
monitoring allows the producer to respond rapidly to changing conditions.
"Our technology is the core of what we are calling dynamic nutrition
optimization," Ryder said. "We believe there is a growing demand
for this in all feed-intensive livestock operations. For too long,
producers have had to work blind when it comes to diet specification.
Dynamic nutrition optimization gives them the visibility they need
to make better diet decisions and will help them reduce their operating
costs."
